Gilded Oddlings (LoRA)

Trigger: GildOddDaal
Recommended weight: 0.5 to 1.5 (sweet spot: 0.8- 1.0 )

What it does

Gilded Oddlings is a love letter to the classic gilded age of illustrated comics and storybook caricature, where characters were allowed to be strange, theatrical, and a little unsettling. Expect expressive faces that bend toward emotion over realism, charming asymmetry, and that old-world “printed illustration” feel, like you found a forgotten illustrated book in an attic that somehow still knows your secrets. The look leans into vintage cartoon exaggeration with painterly texture, stage-like lighting, and a playful creepiness that stays whimsical rather than horror.

In my testing, it performs strongly across animals, places, people, objects, and full scenes . It especially shines when you push whimsical character design and exaggerated emotion . If you describe signature traits (a distinctive nose, wild eyebrows, a particular animal posture, a quirky outfit detail), it does a fantastic job translating them into the Gilded Oddlings universe.

How to use

  • Include the trigger: GildOddDaal

  • Weight range: 0.5 to 1.5

    • 0.5 to 0.8: lighter touch, more of your base model comes through

    • ~1.0: strongest “locks in” adherence for the style

    • 1.2 to 1.5: heavier stylization, more distortion and odd charm

  • Prompting tip: the more you force the image into a very specific non-style format, the more the LoRA may resist. It responds best when you describe subject + emotion + a few signature traits , then let it do the stylization.

What it’s best at

  • Expressive, exaggerated emotion (joy, dread, awe, melancholy, hysteria)

  • Vintage storybook cartoon characters with theatrical poses

  • Oddly charming creepiness (unsettling, but not gore or horror)

  • Stylized portraits and character sheets

  • Animals and creatures with personality and “stage presence”
